Welcome to the Duck on the Pond in South Newington, Oxfordshire.
We are a farm to fork pub and restaurant. Being a small, family run team we pride ourselves in creating a home from home atmosphere. There’s always a reason to visit, from the cosy and calm interiors with roaring log burner in the winter, to the kitchen garden and outside space to dine in the summer. We choose local and sustainable suppliers and grow our own in our kitchen garden.
You might want to visit to have a casual bar meal or enjoy a leisurely brunch.
Or perhaps, it’s that special occasion you want to celebrate, in our tranquil and welcoming restaurant. Where the offering is our a la carte menu; alongside weekly changing dishes.
Why not try our fixed price menu - Wednesday to Saturday featuring our favourite dishes?
We are all about community and connection here and have hosted several different events over the years including quiz nights, collaboration wine and dine evenings with special guests to guide you through the tastings, a solstice sound bath, wreath making workshops and live music - to name but a few.
Keep a look at for the next events and how to secure your spot!

What's Growing On?
Come and visit our kitchen garden where we grow a variety of vegetables, salads and cut flowers!
We work with organic practises growing with the seasons. We are busy planning for the 2026 growing season and soon all our window sills will be filled with seedlings ready to get into their beds in the spring time! Please get in touch to find out ways you can get involved in volunteering in the garden and for any workshops or events that we may be hosting.
We will also be officially launching PYO buckets of cut flowers throughout the summer.
